The Setting: As best I can, without spoiling anything too much, Equestria is at the turn of an age and one long overdue. The Summer Sun Celebration is nearing its one-thousandth year since the banishment of Nightmare Moon and as the age dons upon them they have not a care in world. Despite great technological and magical advancements within the last century some parts of Equestrias map remain unmarked, usually for a good reason. This story is about hero Joseph Sourstill and a strange isolated town hidden deep within the Everfree mountain range called Corkwood. Legend holds to a very few Equestrians, that one can always find their way to fabled lost city by traveling eastward in the Everfree but none have ever returned to tell any truth to this tale. So even to this day, its existence is shrouded in mystery and superstition. The world outside the Everfree and the fate of its denizens after their great exodus remains unknown to virtually all within the borders of Corkwood and her forest, many more remain fearful of outside world. This is Joseph’s story. It will follow him along his trials of the mind, body and heart. Will the fires of conflict forge him anew? Better and stronger than ever before or will he be made brittle by the heat of his failures and left to crack in the rain, only time will tell us the path he is set upon… Edit: A heads up to anyone who read and maybe liked this fan-fiction. The other guy has finally dropped out completely and I may be changing some of the story for posterity’s sake. Mostly I’ll just be changing out the main characters biblical names for names more in line with the My Little Pony TV series but I may also go back and rewrite the ending entirely. I never felt strongly about it to begin with but for the sake of pride, I will preserve it in some fashion. I may actively make the story worse, pulling George Lucas if you will but I figure it aint exactly a Star Wars masterpiece so how much harm can I do? Then again, I might not do anything. We'll see.
